Here’s to our second successful year with Arts Horizions at DWS. This year my students created puppets with Ms. Kit and Ms. Natalie. Each and every one was uniquely original. Per-K students made their puppets from paper bags, kindergarten used paper plates, first grade constructed cone puppets, and second graders made shadow puppets. The 1st and 2nd grade projects were inspired around people. Areas such as, people in our neighborhood, our school, international etc… Pre-K and K classes used animals for their subject matter. Such as farm, forest, and jungle animals as well as birds and insects. All 20 classes used a different embellishment to set their work apart from the others. They added on things like beads, shells, mylar, and feathers. All puppets were displayed at our art show on May 15th 2009. It was a wonderful experience for all.
