EXCEPTIONAL LEARNERS- 101--May 29, 2009
Amanda Newman-Godfrey, from the AIE Consortium and Laura Tunis from The Commission for the Blind presented an afternoon workshop at The Perkin's Center for the Arts in Collingswood. Participants discussed and reviewed basic information, strategies and how to work with “Exceptional Learners” in our classrooms. They also explored the areas of movement, music and writing through the eyes of students with special needs. Then we concluded with a fun sensory art collage... We made original collages using multi-sensory materials such as bubble wrap, textured papers, yarn, recycled items and naturally scented objects ans materials like pine needles...
